Create a site in Google Sites

  1. Log in to your Google Account
    • Students - Go to webmail.students.niu.edu and log in with your Z-ID and password.  
    • Faculty/Staff -  Log in to your gmail account (you must have a gmail account)
  2. Go to sites.google.com
  3. Select CREATE
  4. Select a blank template or browse the pre-built templates 
    Note: pre-built templates may require extensive customization
  5. Enter a name for your site  (a good practice is to use your Z-ID)
  6. Select a theme
  7. Select CREATE
  8. Student sites will be created in the domain sites.google.com/a/students.niu.edu/
  9. By default, your website is visible only to those with NIU gmail accounts.  
    For greater visibility, select the Share button in the upper right, then Public on Web.

Customize your site (add photos, bio, resume, etc.)
